This breed dates back to when the Romans were invading Europe. They were brought along by the drovers and used to help tend the herds of stock that were brought along to feed the invading Roman armies.
Hard to believe that this intelligent, self confident, and devoted companion had almost died out by the early 1900's.
Rottweilers are loyal, and fiercely love and protect their people, and have been known to act like complete fools around them. They do not do well with strangers and good socialization is encouraged in order to make the introduction of new people easier.Their grooming needs are simple, but they do require a large amount of daily exercise.
A strong and handsome dog with a soft side.
